the peace of wild things

This body of works is inspired by the stillness of body and mind expressed in Wendall Berry’s poem, The Peace of Wild Things. I am interested in exploring our connection to the physical landscape and our metaphysical response to it, especially given the chaotic pace and manipulated diversity of the modern world and our distancing from its natural form. I am looking at the smallness of things, the peacefulness of being created when we allow ourselves space to just be. The unscripted, unstructured world of childhood is a poignant source of reconnection, and given the unconstraint of a rural setting, for myself, the relationship with flora and fauna is monumental.
